- Band Saw or Scroll saw
- Sanders – Disc, Belt or Oscilating Spindle
- Router with 1/8″ or 1/4″ round over bit
- Drill Press
- Sand paper or emery boards
Material
- 1/2″ thick solid wood or plywood.
- 1/4″ plywood or hardboard
Instructions
- Make pattern from print of Girl with Gown by gluing to a piece of cardboard or hardboard. Cut pattern to shape.
- Draw shape on wood surfaces.
- Drill 1/4″ hole for eye.
- Saw body from 1/2″ lumber (sand sides smooth) or plywood. Fill any voids, cracks or knot holes with filler.
- Round over edges with 1/8″ or ¼” router bit.
- Sand edges to remove roughness.
- Saw arms and hair from 1/4″ plywood.
- Round over edges with 1/8″ router bit. Sand edges to remove roughness.
- Saw gown from 1/2″ wood or plywood.
- Round over edges with 1/8″ or ¼” router bit.
- Sand edges to remove roughness.
- Glue hair, arms and gown to body.
- Rub your hands over the entire vehicle to make sure there are not sharp edges or points. Remove with sandpaper if any are found.
