Class Description: CBN is cubic boron nitride which is a man made stone similar in hardness to diamond. This class is designed for people who plan to use the shop’s lathes and want to understand how to use our new tool sharpening system. We will concentrate our time on learning to grind the tools required for bowl and end grain turning. These tools include the bowl and spindle gouges and scrapers. This class will be instrumental to your understanding of how to execute the set up of the grinder and the performance of tool sharpening for the various tip grind angles. The class will run about 1 hour.The class size is limited to 6 so everyone can get close enough to see the demonstration.
Brad can do additional classes if there is sufficient interest beyond the limit on the class size. If the class is full when you attempt to register, send an email to vicepresident@slwg.org and we will put your name on a waiting list and schedule another class this Fall.
