Class Description: The class will go into some detail on the various methods of sharpening edge tools such as Handplane irons and chisels. It will discuss and demonstrate systems including “Tormek” wet grinders, dry grinders, “Work Sharp 3000”, water stones, oil stones, diamond stones and the “Scary Sharp” system and will touch on honing guides and other methods to achieve consistent results. The aim is to have the attendees learn the pros and cons of each method and to select a system that will work the best for them taking into consideration their needs and pocketbook.
Each attendee should bring a chisel or plane iron to practice on.
