A two day seminar by noted furniture designer-builder Michael Fortune will be held on March 19 & 20. Michael Fortune has been a furniture builder for over 39 years and is one of Canada’s most respected and creative contemporary furniture masters. He maintains a studio near Toronto, Ontario, Canada, where he designs one of a kind furniture for private clients throughout North America.

Since his career began in 1982, Fortune has become acclaimed for his innovative designs for one-of-a-kind objects in wood, commissioned residential furnishings and items in limited editions. His work has brought him an international clientele and reputation. He is acknowledged for both his technical and design expertise, giving lectures and workshops across Canada and the United States. Fortune received the prestigious Prix Saidye Bronfman, Canada’s highest award in the crafts. Juried by his peers, he was the first woodworker to receive this award.

He has taught at many schools and craft centers including and most notably in the midwest the Marc Adams School of Woodworking in Indiana where the fellowship program for advanced students has been named in his honor.

This 2 Day seminar also includes lunch on both days.

Attendees should bring a sketch pad, Plain white spiral bound artists pad 9″X12″ or 12″X18″, or Graph paper.  Two (2) pair of dividers of different sizes. A compass. A 45 degree drafting triangle. A straight edge at least 12″ long. Pencils and eraser
