The St. Louis Woodworkers Guild had a booth at the 2020 Wood Working Show on February 7th to 9th in Collinsville Illinois. There were many contacts made with the woodworkers who were visiting the show. This community outreach fosters new membership and promotes the interests of the guild.

This captures the booth during a slow time.

The Toy Program was present for kids to try their hand at assembling projects.

This young person was learning to assembling a car.

There were some great stories from watching the kids learning about woodwork. The dad above (Bob) had been to the show the day before with his son who made two cars. His daughter did not want to be left out so they returned on Sunday to assembled two more cars.

I watched a young boy assemble 2 cars. He was proud of himself, and happy to donate one to kids in the hospital. He asked if it was okay to put his name on the one he donates “so the kid who gets it, knows who made it”. I was touched at how the youth was thinking about others.

It was a great event!
