Dear Guild Members

In the past, several members have indicated that they would like to volunteer to serve as Shop Monitors. I will have several openings starting next year. If you are interested in helping out your fellow Guild members and are willing to commit to four days or so during the year serving a four hour shift in the shop, now is the time to let me know. Please e-mail me at vicepresident@slwg.org  Additional training will be required so I have decided to put this notice out a bit early. I expect to only need to fill a few positions next year so if you snooze you could lose.

I am looking for folks who can work both during the week as well as weekends. If you respond please tell me if you can work Saturdays, Sundays (or both) or are retired and able to work during the week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays).

Experienced woodworkers are helpful but you don’t need to be a “master” of the craft to serve your fellow Guild members. We will train you in all of the duties required. The pay is great, in fact because the economy is doing so well we intend to double the pay the current Shop Monitors are receiving! They also have unlimited use of the Shop throughout the year, which is in addition to the adoration that they receive from the many Guild members that use the facility. Plus you get to park really close!

If you have any questions about what is entailed or the duties required feel free to call me at 314-541-3047 and I would be happy to discuss them with you.

Best Regards
Wayne Watson
Vice President
